Some common issues with a Paccar heavy-duty truck engine are the idler pulley, sometimes, it runs crooked. On the driver side, T 660 kin work under steering arm, there is a brass fitting that line goes in it and if you hear iron leaking, that is one of the things that you need to check.
Another issue is the fan hood and fan clutch on these trucks, if you hear making a little racket and growling squealing noise, then you need to fix that, as that could lead to Paccar engine repair, Paccar engine overhaul, or Paccar engine rebuilding.
These are couple of things; you can look at for these trucks and try to catch them before they go out and cost you a whole lot of money, as rebuilding or repairing a Paccar engine is a time-consuming process.

This kind of Paccar engine is not that commercial yet but the first thing we can tell is if you are planning to buy one of these trucks, with this kind of Paccar engine, there are many things that they are really hard to work on it and other things they are easy to do. So, Let’s walk around and see what we believe is one of the issues of this Paccar engine. Let us take a look at some of the simple things like the fuel filter, these filters are made by Paccar. We are not sure if there is an aftermarket filter for this but always buy a genuine one. That is one of the things that you need to work on however, There are other things we never change, one of their compressors is the air compressor which is really hard to change, and then there is the starter. Changing it is a time-consuming job, the problem is the positive wires are way up there, while it is really hard to reach it is possible to change it and with the ECU, we have the alternator which is really at a nice position, that we can change in case we want to.
